Simon Goodburn
This year we have invited Simon Goodburn to be our key speaker. Simon is an up and coming Polar Explorer, Endurance Adventurer and Young Entrepreneur as well as Geoff Wilson’s understudy (and wing-man) in the field. With a heart after the wild place, Simon has spent the last 5 years conditioning himself in extreme wilderness environments and has his sights firmly set on living an adventurous life, far from the perils of comfortability and convenience. Simon has a knack for keeping a level head under extreme duress and loves applying what he has learned through adventure, translating them into actionable steps for young people to succeed in our fast-paced world. Furthermore, with the recent epidemic and increasing trend of mental health challenges, particularly in young people, Simon is committed to inspiring and encouraging people to live with confidence and conviction, abandoning the clutches of fear and anxiety. He achieves this through imparting the importance of lent resilience.
He holds world records for:
– The fastest unsupported crossing of Greenland, South to North (2017)
– The first to cross the Torres Strait via kiteboard (2012)
He has a dynamic and endearing style of delivering, fusing story telling and inspiration in a highly relatable way. As a living crash-test-dummy, Simon embodies the essence of what he speaks about.
